Schonbeck & Company

The main light is an Adolf Schonbeck. The company was founded in 1870 in Bohemia (now part of the Czech Republic), known for crafting custom crystal chandeliers. Adolf's grandson, Arnold Schonbeck, moved the company to Canada after WW2 in 1947, in an attempt to avoid communism in the Czech Republic. The company then moved to Plattsburg, NY, in 1989, where it remains to this day. In 2007, Swarovski acquired the company. In 2021, WAC Lighting acquired the brand, continuing the Schonbek name in the United States.

The company is known for high-end crystal lighting and the use of fine crystal (including the Swarovski crystal). Places that have used this lighting include the White House and Buckingham Palace.

We do not know the exact age of this particular fixture; however, we do know that it has the label (A. SCHONBECK & COMPANY INC. printed in the USA) on the bottom. It also has a UL listing number D-203,488. We are guessing it was made in the 60s, but we really have no idea.

This fixture was purchased on Facebook marketplace in Selah, WA.
