The Doors

The Process

1. Removal

Each door was removed from its spot where it hung. We marked them, similarly to how we did the trim, in order to keep track of which door belonged where. They were stacked up and kept in a safe, dry place.

2. Repair & Sand

Many of the doors had been damaged by the previous owners; one of the doors even had a hole ripped through it and needed to be scrapped. Each door's hardware was removed, and they were then thoroughly and carefully sanded. In most cases, the doors that were painted did not need all of the paint removed; they just needed to be sanded until smooth, and some wood was left exposed.

3. Spray and/or Stain

The doors were then sprayed with primer and then painted. Each door was painted to match the trim in the room it was to be installed in. Some of the doors were stained rather than painted.

4. Installation & Hardware

The doors were then reinstalled in either their original spots, or into a new doorway that suited them better. Handles were then attached, and the door was now as good as new.
